Katherine La Macchia is an Australian Dietitian who has 20 years experience in the food industry globally. Her passion is to promote better healthy food consumption for all people through maximising the nutritional value in our foods in the most sustainable way.


Since returning to Australia, Katya has been working at the Grains & Legumes Nutrition Council with a focus to promote the nutritional goodness of Grains and Legumes and support plant-based eating. Prior to this she was with the Kraft Heinz company for 12 years. During this time she led the Food Sustainability, Nutrition & Health agenda for the company. Katya drove both reformulation of Foods with a focus on improving nutritional value, and led Innovation focused on dialling up natural goodness and strengthening the positive nutrition in the Kraft Heinz portfolio.


Katya sits on multiple advisory groups and is an active member of working groups in the space of Nutrition and Sustainability, with the focus on improving the food supply for all.
